Job Description - Deductions Supervisor (Contract)

Deductions Supervisor (Contract) 

This role is responsible for researching and communicating deductions analysis detail and assisting in determining root causes and solutions aligned with department and company goals


Job Description:

  • Manage escalations from the deductions analysts for unresolved deductions and assist to resolve them
  • Train the deductions analysts on best practices and method of research to facilitate productive conversations with planners
  • Be the liaison between the deductions analysts and the planners to facilitate and expedite deduction clearings in MEI
  • Review and approve deductions submitted by the analysts that are over their approval limit
  • Monitor and maintain an issue log of deductions coded to No Promo/Planner that have aged past 2 weeks and escalate issues aged past 3 weeks to the Associate Director of Sales Planning and the Deductions Manager
  • Manage and clear trade deductions in MEI and SAP that have been repaid by the customer
  • Manually clear kickouts from the SAP automated clearing program
  • Provide periodic trending reports such as the overspend promotions analysis and the daily deductions dashboard
  • Prepare monthly expense analysis for write-offs, admin fees, and expired products and send to the Deductions Manager for approval
  • Able to multi-task in a growing environment
  • Ability to work with IT to develop ad hoc reporting

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience, preferably Client experience
  • Independent thought-leader; self-motivated and self-directed work style; ability to work with a diverse team
  • Ability to thrive in a high paced work environment, pay close attention to detail and meet business-driven deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid Excel and PowerPoint skills; knowledge of SAP and Trade systems (MEI)
  • Sounds understanding of the complexity of business issues faced internally and externally
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Financial Statement Analysis and Deduction Process
