Job Description - Director of Human Resources

 We are working with a global Hedge Fund seeking a Director of Human Resources in Miami. This is an exciting role for someone who can build on the firm's existing platform and take initiative driving firm wide projects. The ideal candidate is a strategic multitasker who is service-oriented and thrives off interacting with people. The Director of Human Resources will partner with group leaders and key stakeholders to build growth initiatives while maintaining company culture and enriching employees experience as we continue to expand. As the Director of Human Resources, you will…

  • Act as a strategic partner to all managers to ensure they have the human capital and human resources tools they need to successfully execute on business objectives
  • Oversee recruitment strategy and new hire onboarding processes to ensure talent needs are successfully identified and fulfilled
  • Maintain oversight of employee immigration processes and facilitate visa applications with outside legal counsel
  • Facilitate the annual performance management process and provide managers with support for coaching needs and performance improvement plans ad hoc
  • Create and Implement key HR initiatives in the areas of change management, compensation planning, succession planning, training & development, etc.
  • Collaborate with Senior Management in the mitigation of employee relations issues
  • Provide managers with guidance and support on terminations/separations and disciplinary action coaching
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and employment practices support the needs of the organization and are compliant with all laws and regulations
  • Provide HR Leadership to a team of HR and TA professionals including coaching, mentorship, and professional development
  • Drive implementation and adoption of key people analytics to help ensure thoughtful, data-driven people decisions


  • Bachelor's degree required, JD or master's degree in Human Resources Management preferred
  • 8+ years proven work experience in human resources, employee relations, or people operations
  • Experience leading a team of HR professionals
  • Excellent knowledge of employment legislation and regulations to lead compliance with all existing governmental and labor laws
  • Hands-on experience working with Payroll, Benefits, HRIS and Vendor Administration
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
  • Effective consulting and coaching skills
  • Ability to identify creative, yet pragmatic, solutions
  • Work well in a fastpaced, teamoriented environment
  • Takes ownership; ability to drive key HR initiatives across the organization

Additional skills/experience that will reflect favorably

  • Previous experience supporting a finance/trading organization or a Global organization is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills
  • Writing, presentation and analytical
