Job Description - Advertising Coordinator

We have a privately owned supermarket firm looking to expand their Marketing/Communications department by adding an Advertising Coordinator to their team. This individual will be essential to the success of the Marketing and Merchandising Department.

Job Function:

The Advertising Coordinator and Analyst is responsible for providing overall administrative support to the Director including analysis and reporting on the company Marketing initiatives, handling meeting logistics and scheduling, creating presentations, documents and correspondence, and marketing and communication initiatives.

Essential Job Duties:

The associate must be able to perform the essential functions of this position satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the duties, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.


  • Follow direction of Director for Analysis of various reporting.
  • Work with Director and external providers to ensure effective deployment of strategies
  • Manage the advertising calendar deadlines, including off week circular opportunities, ROP, and targeted mailers.
  • Communicate upcoming deadlines to the merchandising team and hold team accountable to action items through calendar management and scheduling meetings.
  • Compile weekly briefings for merchandising team including summary of content and performance of what ran the same week previous year.
  • Proofread advertising assets based on a predetermined checklist from the merchandising team.
  • Analyze campaign performance based on KPIs predetermined by the merchandising and marketing teams utilizing internal software Support implementation of marketing strategies.
  • Analyze results and produce presentations and related communications on the detailed results at the company, store and department level
  • Develop communications on progress of ongoing improvements based on action plans
  • Prepare and modify all correspondence, reports, memos, and emails
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy recordkeeping
  • Answer phones promptly and in a professional manner
  • Assist on other goals, projects and initiatives as identified by the Director
  • Interact with other departments, stores and functions to coordinate and execute tasks
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and organized work environment
  • Adhere and comply with all company policies, safety requirements, security standards and all local, state, federal, health and civil code regulations.
  • Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with all staff, store teams, and vendors
  • Complete all required and applicable training programs
  • Maintain punctual and regular attendance, including working overtime as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to analyze and think critically about data.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and with a team
  • Confident in doing research and analytics to share prospective ideas
  • Excellent communication skills including effective writing skills
  • Proficient handling data including number skills, basic math, and interpreting and analyzing data
  • Excellent research skills and attention to detail
  • Comfort and confidence around others (management and non-management associates) including ability to communicate and provide feedback, analysis and recommendations
  • Ability to use good judgment, problem solving and reasoning skills
  • Ability to interact with associates in a friendly and helpful way
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and manage time effectively
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Knowledge of operating standard office equipment and systems
  • Experience in web design and content production is a plus
  • Experience in copywriting and editing is a plus


  • Four year college degree in marketing, communications, or related discipline is required.
