Business Development Manager

Our client, a worldwide leader in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical primary packaging and analytical lab services, is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their expanding team. The ideal candidate will be tenacious and dynamic, offering both speed & agility to keep up in the fast-paced environment and make an impact on the team.


  • Drive growth of the North American business through new and existing customers
  • Identify business potential, understand product requirements, and fully execute projects
  • Stay current regarding knowledge of market trends for product updates, improvements, etc. 
  • Train and provide technical support to the Sales team
  • Apply product knowledge to attract new customers and define specifications
  • Assess customer information and develop action plans based on business potential
  • Prepare rolling forecasts and budgets
  • Attend trade-shows and seminars
  • Write journal articles that highlight company's expertise
  • Develop in-depth market intelligence of NA product segments; to include the analysis and understanding of customer information, market conditions and competitors
  • Maintain in-depth understanding of existing and new segments and applications


  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Bioscience /Chemistry /Pharmacy/Physics/Engineering/ Business Administration or other similarly related field
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in business development (technical or sales related) within a B2B environment for an international organization
  • Prior experience in the pharmaceutical packaging industry, preferred
  • Project management experience
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Well-organized and highly motivated team player
  • Solid business acumen with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Results driven
  • Effective written, oral and interpersonal communication
  • Position requires 40% travel
