A human service organization that helps individuals and families improve their economic and social well-being, is looking for a HR Generalist, with a knowledge for Benefits to join their Administration Team located in the Bronx, NY.
Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.
Assists with employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
Payroll- payroll deductions entered in ADP for medical, dental, and transit benefits.
Liens/Garnishments scanned, tracked and submitted to payroll manager.
Pension and Tax deferred Annuity plan terminations in Hotline plus exit interviews-sent out to all departing employees
Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
Perform additional duties as assigned by manager.
3-4 years of nonprofit experience in a HR position
Experience with Benefits; open enrollment, LOA, FMLA. and NY Benefits
