Description

ICS is seeking a Payroll & Compliance Specialist to join the team of our client's fast-growing operations. The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy as well as flexible with strong multi-tasking skills and experience processing multiple payrolls. A dedicated team player who demonstrates excellent customer service to ensure a top-notch experience for all clients will be successful in this role. 

Position Overview
The Payroll and Compliance Specialist is responsible for executing payroll for multiple client payrolls in different systems and providing project management support with technology transitions. They will provide exceptional customer service while delivering timely and accurate solutions. The position works within the HR team to cultivate partnerships with clients to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the client. The Payroll and Compliance Specialist maintains a current understanding of payroll and technology trends, changes and regulatory compliance. Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Manage client workflows to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
  • Process 401(k) funding
  • Provide the necessary information to client accounting contacts to properly record payroll information in the accounting system
  • Perform payroll analysis as required
  • Communicate with clients to ensure timely payment of payroll taxes and other withholdings
  • Resolve client employee inquiries
  • Assist with month end close including reconciliations and journals
  • Assist with quarter end and year end audits
  • Acts as project manager and assists external clients in the implementation of technical system, software, or solutions
  • Provides end-user support and acts as a liaison with the payroll provider and client
  • Collaborate with HR team to resolve general tactical HR issues for clients
  • Achieve assigned targets for customer retention and strategic objectives in assigned accounts
  • Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis
  • Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve processes, create efficiencies, and reduce costs
  • Cooperatively take on other duties, roles or responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 3 years of payroll experience
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred
  • Identifies complex problems and reviews related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Knowledge and practical experience with local, state and federal government laws for payroll and accounting
  • Proficiency with MS Office products and mainstream HRMS platforms (Paylocity & Rippling preferred)
  • Proven track record of providing superior implementation 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer focused attitude
