Job Description - Procurement Governance Lead

Our direct client is looking to add a Sr Procurement Consultant to their fast paced and high energy global team to manage the design, implementation and operation of an effective Supplier risk management capability, covering both pre-contract (Procurement) and post contract (Supplier Management) activities.


Looking for proven experience with:

  • Demonstrable experience of having designed, built and implemented governance frameworks across both pre-contract (Procurement) and post-contract (Supplier Management) activities in large scale, complex, global organizations
  • May suit someone with a Risk Consulting background who has led projects to implement 3rd Party and / or Supplier Risk Management capability.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • CIPS accredited
  • In-depth understanding of 3rd Party and / or Supplier risk and control frameworks
  • Good understanding of 3rd Party and / or Supplier risk management & reporting
  • Solid understanding of the insurance industry



  • Design, build and maintain a structured internal Procurement governance framework, including controls, monitoring, reporting and escalation mechanisms
  • Provide effective oversight of Supplier risk in accordance with internal policy and relevant legal and regulatory requirements
  • Create and maintain a library of tools, templates and other relevant materials required by stakeholders to execute Procurement initiatives (pre-contract) and Supplier Management (post contract)
  • Communicate and train stakeholders both in Procurement and the wider Business function ensure Supplier Risk Management requirements are understood across the end-to-end procurement lifecycle
  • Lead assessment exercises of Supplier risk, develop mitigation plans and partner with internal stakeholders to assign monitoring responsibility
  • Provide regular stakeholder reporting to provide assurance that Supplier risk controls are in place and operating effectively; where issues are identified ensure remedial plans are in place and delivered;
  • Continually reassess the operational risks associated with conducting Procurement initiatives, as well as the wider ongoing Supplier Management
