TITLE: Inventory Specialist

Location: Houston, Texas

Inventory Specialist

This role includes procurement, vendor management, quoting, and invoicing clients. Strong communication, attention to detail and follow up are key aspects of building and managing client's needs. We would love a candidate that has purchased IT equipment, as you would work with vendors to purchase equipment for clients.

This role requires someone who is a critical thinker, meticulous, and outgoing who enjoys working with an energetic team and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work flexible hours up to a maximum of two days a week is a plus. Successful candidates will have strong interpersonal skills, writing and verbal communication skills, a confident presence, adept logical troubleshooting ability, and task management skills.


  • Basic technical knowledge preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge/usage
  • Procurement experience is a plus
  • College degree(s) is a plus
  • Technical certification(s) is a plus

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Help maintain very strong personal relationships with our vendors.
  • Manage renewals of licenses and warranties.
  • Manage inventory and the related database.
  • Work closely with technical team and our clients to quote computer hardware and software.
  • Research equipment to insure best pricing and availability.
  • Order equipment approved by clients.
  • Meet deadlines to quote and order equipment.
  • Follow-up with clients on previously quoted equipment.
  • Return equipment when necessary.
  • Track daily activity in our time-management software.

Technical Support (secondary aspect of the role)

  • Assist with Level 1 level tech responsibilities such as (but not limited to):
    • Workstation maintenance (normally performed in the evenings – comp time off or comp pay is your choice)
    • Server/Workstation staging / base builds
    • Server room upgrade projects with other team members (as needed)
    • Assist with "On Deck Technical Support” if/when ticket counts are rapidly growing (possible expansion to this role)
    • Site Maintenance (15-20 steps that are customized per client site; possible expansion)
    • Onsite support as needed (for example emergency switch or ups replacement; possible expansion)
  • Participate in technical team trainings and continue to advance technical skillsets
