Job Description - Business Analyst

Job Summary:

The Business Analyst (BA) I & II will assess every aspect of the business operations. Moreover,

the BA will examine existing and new systems for improvement, report common issues, evaluate

company performance, and recommend new system procedures. To excel in this position, the BA

should be an experienced professional with in-depth knowledge of business processes and business

system analysis techniques. The ideal candidate will also be dedicated and demonstrate excellent

written and verbal communication skills.



Supervisory Responsibilities:

• With the Project Manager, exercises joint authority and responsibility for the work and

schedules of consultants.

• Creates, develops, provides, or coordinates system training, materials, and other educational

tools.



Duties/Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with CTO and business staff to thoroughly understand the needs to be supported by

the information systems and technology.

• Identify effective solutions for business software system issues.

• Report common patterns, questions, and other issues to the VP of Operations.

• Recommend solutions for improving and restructuring company procedures.

• Assess company performance, information, and plans by conducting regular tests and analysis.

• Monitor company systems status and report any progress or changes.

• Research and estimate the costs of upgrades and improvements.

• Establish specifications for new projects by developing project goals, phases, and budgets.

• Determines how changes to the project will affect the business and systems.

• Provides recommendations regarding the evolution of the system.

• Responds to inquiries and provides advice to the business staff regarding current and potential

system inputs, processes, and outputs.

• Negotiates plans and timeframes, ensuring that business staff understand the anticipated result.

• Develops and communicates detailed specifications for implementation.

• Produces reports, timelines, and graphics to communicate expectations and progress to

management, customers, investors, and other relevant parties.

• Collaborates with the Project Manager to ensure the needs of the business staff have been met.

• Researches and analyzes the nature, effect, and results of system difficulties.

• Satisfies data sampling, project analysis, testing verification, and other user requests from

existing business staff databases.

• Acts as liaison with Information Technology and/or outside vendors to support relevant systems.

• Maintains current understanding of industry standards, trends, and best practices through

industry and other professional networks.



Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software program.

• Extremely organized with great attention to detail.

• Excellent management skills with the ability to lead, facilitate, motivate, and organize.

• Ability to adapt to change.

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Ability to learn quickly and to creatively solve new problems.

• Ability to negotiate and settle differences quickly and peacefully.

• Ability to act as a team player.



Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field required.

• At least five to seven years of related experience.

• Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or relevant field.

• A minimum of 3 years' experience as a business analyst.

• Ability to work in a collaborative environment.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Highly analytical mindset.

• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
