Sr. Project Manager / Program Manager - Brand Identity

7 Month Contract

Hybrid San Diego, CA

We are looking for a solutions-oriented critical thinker, who is proactive, well-organized and has a proven track record of shaping and delivering projects/programs. The ideal candidate is a self-starter skilled at working cross-functionally, across various levels of leadership and has a track record of building solid business partnerships and delivering impactful results.

The role is responsible for stewarding marketing initiatives and driving planning & execution against 3 of the Brand Marketing projects. If you have experience in Project managing advertising, sponsorship, and brand activation projects then this role is for you.

With a focus on delivering delightful experiences to customers and outstanding business results, you will establish excellent organization, collaboration, and communication on your programs, applying and optimizing best practices, tools, and processes to get the job done in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment.

What you'll bring…

  • Strong Project /Program Management leadership experience, including 1-3 years leading Marketing programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence at the mid-manager and higher level within a matrixed environment.
  • Marketing Program Management knowledge, project/program framework best practices, tools, and techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships across teams to deliver the best program outcome.
  • Management of complex and fast-paced marketing projects/programs to successful delivery (on time, on budget, meeting requirements, and achieving stated business outcomes)
  • Understanding and navigation of the varying goals, needs, deliverables, timelines, processes, resources and technologies leveraged – helping ensure a cohesive approach on your projects/programs.
  • Ability to drive effective communications across all stakeholders, partners, team members to facilitate optimal collaboration and visibility, and accelerate decision-making on your projects/programs.
  • Ability to identify, track and manage issues and risks consistently, transparently and accurately. Be bold and take immediate action to mitigate or remove them effectively.
  • Establish strong relationships internally and externally to facilitate successful outcomes.
  • Create clearly understandable and actionable success criteria, objectives, and requirements and communicate them to the team(s).

How you will lead…

Deliver programs

  • Develop a high-quality project/program management plan.
  • Manage the project/program operating rhythm
  • Apply appropriate methodologies to programs and execute against the plan, adapting to changes and pivots
  • Track risks and issues and work with stakeholders to determine response plans
  • Uses data to assess progress to plan and communicate progress to stakeholders Focus strategically
  • Have autonomy to work collaboratively with the leaders in your space to drive the project/program strategy to accelerate the most strategic business outcomes. Leverage a data-backed approach to execute, monitor and communicate progress, trade-offs or decisions needed

Domain expertise

  • Exhibit knowledge of managing programs across a Marketing Community
  • Quickly absorbs and processes information in new areas, parsing what is important and relevant, and applies that to problem-solving
  • Identify dependencies and any gaps, determine capabilities needed and engage the proper experts to determine a solution

Lead change

  • Build trust within the team
  • Engages with Identified stakeholders

Enable scale

  • Leverage and implement project/program framework best practices, tools and templates.
  • Recommends areas of improvement within the project/program in partnership with stakeholders.

Experience: 3-4 years in Project Management and at least 1 year in Marketing

someone who has led complex programs

Tech background is preferred

This is a Hybrid role (1 or 2 days a week in office)
