Location: Remote
Compensation Range :
$50/hr. to $70/hr.
The role of the COBOL Developer is to design, code, test, and analyze software programs. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the production lifecycle. The developer will also analyze and amend software errors in a timely and accurate fashion and provide status reports where required
What You'll Do:

- Technical analysis and design of systems, applications, processes and components
- Develop, maintain and enhance systems based on business requirements using approved technologies and coding standards
- Develop, maintain and enhance testing functionality for all systems
- Collaborate and assist other team members in the conceptualization and implementation of development projects
- Monitor and ensure optimal performance of our key internal and external applications
- Conduct research on emerging development techniques, languages and standards
- Analyze, troubleshoot and assist in the resolution of system issues
- Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals
- Conduct research into software issues and products as required
- Present ideas and solutions in user-friendly manner
Skills / Experience You Will Need:
- College diploma or university degree in the field of Information Technology and/or 5 years of equivalent work experience
- Solid knowledge and understanding of the COBOL language
- Familiarity with the Microsoft .NET Framework
- Working technical knowledge of SQL and relational database design
- Familiarity with unit and integration testing techniques
- Ability to adapt and develop within multiple programming languages and environments
- Self-motivated, driven, and have a keen attention to detail
- Possess strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
