Job Description - AutoCAD Specialist

Job Summary:

  • This role is responsible for partnering with Administrative Services employees to apply independent judgement in updating As Built and Master AutoCAD (computer aided design) drawings in accordance to company CAD standards.
  • Provides functional and technical support on CAFM (computer aided facility management) / IWMS (integrated work management system) project related to CAD and space management system for reporting on company spaces. Knowledge of facilities functions, space allocation methodology, and architectural industry best practices for drawings.
  • The level of work is considered entry level, and staff must be able to work under close to general supervision.
  • This position has no direct reports.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities CAD Files / Drawing Management:

  • Partner with Administrative Services staff to create, update redline drawings / documents (i.e., Architectural, Furniture, Infrastructure, Space drawings, etc.)
  • Connect, validate and report on room data records with AutoCAD space drawings for use with Archibus, following FRB space allocation standard and conventions
  • Update As-Built and Master AutoCAD drawings in accordance to Bank CAD standards.
  • Actively monitor and apply discretion to update CAD files in compliance with existing CAD definitions, including layers, text, dimension, block definition, plot styles, etc.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions to improve/automate CAD process where possible
  • Able to take direction, prioritize, and work analytically and independently to accomplish assignments/goals within specified deadlines Education and Experience
  • Associates Degree in Drafting, Design, Architecture, or Engineering, or related field
  • 1 to 3 years of related experience



Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD (2018-or later) software, project-based computer software and architectural disciplines
  • Strong knowledge of application MS Office Suite, MS Project, MS Visio • Acute attention to detail to analyze information to solve problems
  • Desirable knowledge of CAFM, IWMS, Archibus or other related space management tools • Desirable knowledge of BOMA / ANSI standard method of measuring floor area in office buildings
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to train others
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills Strong knowledge of project management, organization and time management skills

Successful candidate will:

  • Create, update redline drawings / documents (i.e., Architectural, Furniture, Infrastructure, Space drawings, etc.) using AutoCAD 2018.
  • Connect, validate and report on room data records with AutoCAD ; space drawings for use with Archibus, following FRB space allocation standard and conventions
  • Able to take direction, prioritize, and work analytically and independently to accomplish assignments/goals within specified deadlines.
  • Key success factor to this position will be to work with AS tech team, listen, understand and engage in the process of creating, linking and validation space drawings and reports.
  • Being able to interpret processes and methodology of how space is captured and measured using CAD and Archibus will aid in the success in this position.
