Business System Analyst


A. Principal Purpose of Position:

This role will be responsible for serving as the dedicated subject matter expert on two vended software solutions (SaaS products) to be utilized by the Underwriting and Member Services

Departments – (1) Origami Risk RMIS for Underwriting and (2) Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM for

Member Services (the Solutions). This includes (a) assistance in the initial configuration, customization and implementation of the Solutions ongoing support of business users following roll-out of the Solutions, including troubleshooting and resolving of technical issues, building and maintaining customizations and feature enhancements, and driving adoption and best practices, and (c) acting as the liaison for the Underwriting and Member Services Departments to the Solution vendors.


B. Primary Responsibilities:

-Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the Underwriting and Member

Services business functions

-Assist in the development of features, configurations, customizations and

implementation of the Solutions, including but not limited to:

  Collaboration with project managers, business users and vendors in the

development of detailed requirements and technical specifications for the


  Work with project managers, business users and vendors to manage project

plans and timelines to achieve on-time delivery of Solutions

  Assistance with data mapping, conversion and migration exercises

  Building and configuration of initial reports and dashboards utilizing the


  Participation and management of quality assurance and user acceptance

testing of Solutions, including work with business users to develop suitable

acceptance criteria

-Act as first line of contact for business users in troubleshooting and resolving

technical and productivity issues concerning the Solutions and act as liaison with

-Solution vendors on behalf of the Underwriting and Member Services business


-Act as liaison between the Underwriting and Member Services business functions

and the IT and Data Analytics business units

-Work with the vendors to facilitate the release of upgrades and error fixes for the


-Conduct initial and ongoing training of business users with respect to the Solutions

to drive adoption, understanding of features and best practices

-Identify, and collaborate with business users and vendors to drive delivery of, featureenhancements to improve the Solution experience for business users

-Collaborate with

IT and Data Analytics departments to identify and resolve

conflicts and dependencies between the Solutions and other ancillary systems

-Work with business users to build and maintain reports and dashboards produced by the Solutions

-Maintain and update Underwriting and Member Services business process flows and user guides, as required

-Work with IT and Data Analytics departments to manage data integrity for

the Solutions, including identifying inconsistencies and implementing remedies


C. Educational / Experiential Qualifications:

1. Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in a similar analyst role, with the

following preferred:

-end-to-end software development lifecycle experience, preferably in an Agile

development environment

-experience configuring vended SaaS products, with administration-level

-experience and working knowledge of underwriting and CRM systems preferred

-experience driving requirement sessions and documenting requirements and

technical specifications

-experience conducting quality assurance and user acceptance tests

experience working in a cloud environment, such as AWS or Azure

-intermediate to expert level experience with Excel, including advanced formulas

and Pivot Tables; with SQL experience preferred

-Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills; proactive and independent problem


-Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy, organizational and time management


-Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse background of people

-Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, including the

ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users and to explain

business needs to technical professionals

-Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, management information science,

business administration or related fields
