Director of Logistics Optimization



The Enterprise Analytics & Data Management team is part of the Digital organization.  Our mission is to accelerate business growth and drive operational efficiencies by extracting insights from data, predicting business outcomes and embedding intelligence into business processes.  As a member of EADM you will deliver insights and solutions across the organization in areas such as routing, logistics, revenue management, customer experience, people analytics, business operations and more. 

 

Job Summary



The Director of Logistics Optimization will define and lead analytic strategies within our collections and post-collection network operations to improve customer service, occupational safety, and efficiency while reducing business expense.  S/he will manage the analytics for all collection and post-collection operations across the enterprise, implementing high-quality data-driven solutions.  S/he will ensure data accuracy and consistent reporting by designing and creating optimal processes and procedures for analytics employees to follow. The right person for the job will apply his/her exhaustive knowledge of data analysis to solving real-world problems faced by our company and finding opportunities for improvement across multiple projects, teams and business units.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with business executives to define the analytic strategy for Logistics Optimization across the organization  
  • Create vision for Logistics Optimization.  Identify priorities which lead to improved customer service, increased efficiency, reduced costs while maintaining or exceeding high standards of occupational safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Define strategic roadmap for Logistics Optimization based on business impact and business readiness
  • Use data to identify opportunities/actions to drive improvements to quality of service, employee retention, transportation costs, and capital efficiency.
  • Become the logistics Subject Matter Expert on continuous improvement methods, demand planning, route optimization, and transportation network design.
  • Complete the full analytics journey from stitching data together, analyzing data, building predictive/prescriptive models, creating powerful visualizations, and automating/implementing solutions that solve business problems.
  • Perform analyses that yield insights and drive actions on opportunities which improve business KPI performance.
  • Client new opportunities to optimize our customer service through analytics, statistical and optimization modeling using analytical tools.
  • Design, develop, and deploy executive-level dashboards in business intelligence application, based on key insights and outputs from analyses.
  • Foster organization wide collaboration in solving problems.
  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Communicate & summarize message in succinct and manner.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is management through one or more managerial levels. This includes both direct and indirect supervision of full-time employees including management and individual contributor positions.

Qualifications



The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. 


A. Education and Experience

  • Experience in transportation/logistics analytics with a demonstrated track record of results driving continuous improvements, variable cost reductions and improved capital efficiency.
  • Experience developing business strategy, business case and execution plan for achieving a vision for analytics in the Logistics domain.
  • Experience engaging with C-level executives in forming an analytic strategy.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, economics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, MBA or other relevant technical discipline.
  • Requires 6+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of predictive/prescriptive statistical modeling and translating insights to action.
  • Experience connecting disparate data stores, cleansing outliers/missing data, and transformations.
  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing data visualization dashboards utilizing advanced visualization tools that provide real-time visibility into performance results.
  • Experience automating data within business intelligence applications, to tell an analytical story through visualizations.

 

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
  • Advanced Analytics certifications would be a plus.
