Network Operations Engineers have extensive knowledge of company products and services and experience and understanding of the overall IT environment. They understand networking LAN, WAN, data center, wireless, load balancing and security technologies. Network Operations Engineers receive calls or assignments which are non-routine and require deviation from standard procedures and troubleshooting steps. They handle situations which may require adaptation of response or extensive research according to customer response or incident type. They exhibit advanced problem solving skills and techniques requiring minimal assistance from others in resolving these problems. They are aware and understand programming languages and automation technology to automate routine or day to day work requests and network health checks. Network Operations Engineers are situationally aware and continuously observe the operational health and status of network components within the infrastructure to isolate and address points of failure. They provide guidance and training to less experienced staff. Network Operations Engineers consult with systems engineering or other technical teams when events require.
