Job Description - Network Operations Engineer

    NYC (Hybrid) 
 
    Long-Term Contract 
 

 
  The Network Operatrions Engineer will be working primarily remotely and traveling to our NYC HQ and our Secaucus, NJ based Data Center 1x-2x per week. The Network Operatrions Engineer will be responsible for providing network support to the Americas region and data centres.  This candidate will also work closely with global colleagues, including the main regional office based in London.  The role will entail a mixture of day-to-day support as well as project work as outlined below.   
 

 
    What You’ll Do:  

 
•       Provide 2  ^nd  and 3  ^rd  level investigation and resolution of network and firewall incidents, problems, and support.   
 
•       Monitor availability and performance of network systems.   
 
•       Implement necessary network and firewall changes.   
 
•       Provide support, expert advice, and guidance within the IT networks field of expertise.   
 
•       Lead the network element of projects both regionally and globally.   
 
•       Manage relations with external vendors and 3  ^rd  party providers..   
 

 

 
    Skills / Experience You Will Need:  

 
•     Relevant combination of education and experience. 
 
•     5+ years of relevant work experience; previous experience within banking or financial services preferred.  
 
•     Fluent knowledge of EIGRP/BGP routing and experience with MPLS networks 
 
•     Working knowledge and experience with: 
 
•     Multiple Cisco products, Nexus 5k/7k/9k line of switches, WLC, and Cisco 38xx series switches.  
 
•     Network monitoring tools (Prime, StatSeeker. etc..) 
 
•     Firewall policy management and Internet Content filtering management. 
 
•     Knowledge and experience of Palo Alto and Checkpoint Firewalls including GlobalProtect VPN solutions 
 
•     Excellent Switching/Routing problem solving skills
