ICS is hiring an experienced Senior Accountant for our Client in the Joilet, IL area! This position will serve as the team lead in training, supervising, and assisting the accounting team. The Senior Accountant will report to the accounting manager and play a lead role in the testing and training on various projects. Our ideal candidate has excellent leadership skills, a strong background in Accounting or Finance, and will be a successful mentor/coach to the team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Responsibilities for the team lead include training, prioritizing and coordinating work distribution, reviewing staffs work, assisting with projects, meeting independent and team deadlines, and escalating performance issues to the manager.
Coordinate the workload of the intercompany accountants; lead training, assign and prioritize workload, review work and escalate performance issues to the manager.
Coach and develop the inter-entity team to ensure high skill levels.
Partner with CommScope’s global finance departments to ensure adherence to accounting policies.
Support staff during month end close. Prepare and review complex journal entries and support/guide team to manage foreign entity requirements. Support inter-entity staff accountants to troubleshoot and correct out-of-balance positions with trading partners.
Lead meetings on various projects and mentor staff on project task execution
Reconcile and approve payment requests for assigned entities.
Participate/lead acquisition project activities, including testing and training.
Process intercompany master data requests. Manage additions, deletions, and changes to master data for intercompany vendors and customers in DG and SAP.
Train global staff on intercompany master data; take lead role in developing intercompany Subject Matter Expert (SME) documentation for global users. Continuously improve and expand knowledge depth of MDG/SAP data requirements, components of internal orders (outputs, EDI, etc.) and improve end to end intercompany processes for orders within and across ERP systems.
Drive process improvements. Document and continuously improve intercompany accounting processes to ensure alignment with G.A.A.P. and Sarbanes-Oxley.
Field complex questions from the global inter-entity teams associated with maintaining global inter-entity general ledger accounts.
Assist manager in developing project staffing plans and scheduling to meet objectives and business needs.
Works with the tax department, external audit, compliance and other internal customers to resolve issues.
Coordinate with the treasury department for daily operations, issue resolution, and the implementation of new programs and processes.
Assists corporate consolidation team with understanding out of balance positions between HFM and SAP.
Participate in other duties and projects as assigned.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE YOU NEED:
Bachelor’s in related curriculum such as Accounting or Finance
5+ Years of Related Experience
Experience in training staff and leading a team preferred
Minimum of 3 years experience with SAP preferred
Advanced Excel skills required
Functions at a high level on tight deadlines with multiple projects
Achieves results by working with cross departmental teams
Strong knowledge of G.A.A.P. is required
Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation preferred
