Senior Systems Engineer

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join a team of engineers dedicated to managing critical infrastructure supporting the US economy. Responsibilities include design, implementation, support and maintenance of Wintel/VMware server/storage infrastructure across the environment. The primary objective is to ensure the reliability and resiliency of the production systems.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and at least 10 years experience in a Wintel Server environment
• Extensive experience with VMware vSphere / vRealize Automation and Operations
• Experience automating server build / config
• Experience with PowerShell script development
• Enterprise storage experience (EMC VMAX, Isilon, ScaleIO)
• Experience with Cisco MDS and /or fiber channel
• Experience installing, administering, and troubleshooting software and hardware in large, mission critical, 24x7 production environments, preferably banking or similar financial institutions
• Ability to communicate effectively with peers, users, and all management levels
• Must be able to work as part of a team as well as alone with minimum supervision

Qualifications Desired:

• Experience with EMC AppSync, EMC RecoverPoint
• Familiarity with REST API for managing infrastructure

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Third Level production support for Microsoft Windows Server environment
• Automation of O/S Patching, Hardening, and Compliance
• Automation of virtual server provisioning
• Server Contingency Testing - contribute to DR/BCP validation testing efforts
• Comply with Change Control standards
• Comply with Security and Risk controls
• Test/automate deployment of upgrades - hardware, O/S, drivers, firmware, patches, etc
• Server Documentation/Procedural Documentation - create installation instructions for Network Operations for server modifications in the production environment
• Audit Compliance - test and implement security settings to ensure server compliance with security and audit requirements; familiarity with industry standards such as NIST, ISO, CIS, PCI, and FFIEC very helpful
