Job Description - Senior Systems Engineer

Senior Systems Engineer





We are working with a client with headquartters in Chicago. They are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer for an ongoing temporary need. The Senior Systems Engineer will be part of a small Engineering team providing administration and engineering within a SaaS environment. The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for working with Microsoft technologies including but not limited to Windows 2008 and 2012 servers, Active Directory and Exchange 2010 and Office 365. In addition. someone with experience supporting a large virtual environment is a must.



Skills:

  • They are majority a Microsoft shop but are pushing to use more opensource technologies
  • Need someone who is strong in either Servers/Virtual and has some networking. They are also open to someone who is stronger on the Network side but can do Server and Virtual Engineering
  • They have around 60 physical servers (Windows 2008 R2 and some Windows 2012) and 1000+ VM's. They run Exchange 2010 onsite and looking to move to O365. 300 corporate staff and over 2000 field/maintenance folks in remote areas.
  • Business Continuity Data Center is in Downers Grove but one of the team members lives near by so the temp would not have to go there but for emergencies.
  • they operate as a SaaS but NOT going to a IaaS.
