 Job Summary

The HR Administrator, Benefits Specialization is a key position for the Human Resources Department and handles various administrative support on a day-to-day basis. This position acts as a liaison between employees and insurance providers to resolve benefits-related problems and ensure effective utilization of plans and positive employee relations. This is a full-time exempt role.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate daily benefits administration for group medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, disability and life insurance
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests for information and questions including but not limited to benefits, policies, systems and procedures
  • Act as a liaison with insurance carriers and third-party administrators to foster effective relationships with employees
  • Maintain and administer processes, procedures in HRIS systems
  • Work with third party unemployment administrator to handle claims by reviewing and responding to requests for information and documentation
  • Performs accurate and timely employment verifications
  • Ensure timely response and processing of service letters for terminated employees in appropriate jurisdictions
  • Manage annual open enrollment period during 4th quarter of each year. Arrange mailers and communications to employees and manage onsite representation by benefits broker. Process all open enrollment changes within deadlines.
  • Create monthly reports on HR metrics and participate in HR projects
  • Participates in weekly department meetings

Required Skills

  • Prior experience as an HR Administrator or Benefits Specialist
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exhibits and maintains high ethical standards
  • Ability to maintain confidentially
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Persistence and superb follow up

Required Education and Experience

  • 4-year bachelor's degree in HR or relevant field
  • 2 years minimum of experience in an HR coordinator role or similar function
  • Experience with Kronos and HRIS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
